How far do the films you have studied for this topic offer an analysis of the social issues they present? 

When the characters in the film are talking, they repeatedly mention a desire for change referring to money. However the director wanted to bring deep meaning to the film by using change as a metaphor for the 'hand over' of Hong Kong to the Chinese rule. Although the 'hand over' is never mentioned properly. The narrative is very contextual, there is no concept of time, and it is impossible to keep track of the time. Time is mentioned throughout the film in songs and in the script, smudge motion, and the jump cut.
